i want to know what it means to CRAVE... to YEARN... to be desperate for...

What if you knew that this is how he feels about you?
Jesus isnt afraid of your past or your current situation... Hes not afraid of your fears, your doubts, your questions. Our empty pursuits to satisfy have left us wanting... But what if there was something more?

Q: how will you... how will i live in response to the gospel?
a response (according to dictionary.com) is an answer or reply, as in words or in some action.
in biology a response is any behavior of a living organism that results from an external or an internal stimulus.
if the stimulus in our lives is the gospel... what is our response?
holiness and obedience will always work together... we cannot separate the two. by its very nature holiness and obedience HAVE TO alter our behavior. behavior will morph as our connection with the stimulus, the gospel becomes nearer. connection is central to initiating identity shift.

every year we try to be aware and make others more aware of social opportunities and injustices that are happening around the world and locally here in st louis... the homeless stats continue to rise every year and clothing and food are always in need. every year we spend an evening outside in cardboard boxes to show our support, raise awareness but to also collect clothing and food items.

at some point in the maturation process of becoming who we were meant to be we MUST move. there is no neutral in following jesus... we are either dying or growing but never stalled. if we love we will obey!

a buddy of mine told me about this organization that is fighting human trafficking and the sex slave trafficking that continues to grow over international borders...

Our first She Dances project, Hope in Honduras, represents the freedom and hope that girls in Honduras deserve. Honduras is located in the center of the "trafficking route" and because of poverty and lack of education, women and children in Honduras are very vulnerable to exploitation. Freedom is being taken from girls every day...

the years of wondering... searching, questioning, writing, dialoguing, reading... riddled with anticipation, often times ending in frustration with more questions than i begin with and i am beginning to taste it... see glimpses of it... smell its aroma and fragrance in the present.
i am beginning to experience LIFE.
not just a pulse... not just the beat of yet another heart beat... not just the rising of the sun on another morning... but real life... really life!
real, authentic community finding its identity in the gospel.
becoming who we were meant to be... being restored back to our original intent... the CHURCH beginning to understand our role in the story... returning to the gospel and creating a culture a texture that community can naturally emerge.
gone are the days of quick fixes, microwave christianity is DEAD! the day for followers of jesus becoming disciples is upon us. the days of propositional, lifeless, self help teaching are gone.
today we rise as a community with our identity found in the gospel... this LIFE is possible!

life sits idle just waiting to be lived... wondering when someone will live it?
crazy to think that i have tried to live so much life outside of the context of the gospel and community. life just doesn't make any sense without true identity attached to it because were forced to chase so many empty promises in search of significance.
tomorrow is relentless... it keeps coming.
there's life waiting in tomorrow... will we embrace it?
