what would happen if the legacy of the church shifted toward loving our people when they needed it most instead of kicking them when they are down?
maybe people would stop pretending that they're perfect.
maybe people would feel safe enough to be vulnerable.
maybe people would see a place of safety.
maybe people would get a glimpse of jesus.
i pray that we become a community that sees beyond our own self righteous, lifeless, pious pursuits of perfection... a community that moves toward depth and away from the veneer of "all together".
when this happens...
maybe CHURCH will make sense.
let us love you when and where you need it the most.
